Dr. Sarah Thursby was drawn to a career in healthcare at a young age.  Witnessing the effects of illness within her family growing up created an extreme desire and motivation to live a holistic healthy lifestyle.  As an adult her own lifestyle choices lead her down a career path which allowed her to encourage and help others achieve and maintain good health through holistic methods.

Dr. Thursby graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1997.  After 5 years of research and sales experience in a pharmaceutical company, Dr. Thursby desired a better way to help others achieve good health.  Dr. Thursby went on to complete her Doctorate of Chiropractic at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, Illinois.  NUHS is also where Dr. Thursby completed an additional bachelors degree in Human Biology.  In addition to her chiropractic studies, Dr. Thursby completed an extensive two year acupuncture program and intends to sit for the diplomate examination in 2007 to further distinguish her academic accomplishments.  Dr. Thursby has completed over 100 additional hours of seminar with focuses in Webster Technique, Advanced Orthopedics, Foot and Lower Extremity Biomechanics, Optimal Performance Bodywork, Functional Rehabilitation, Biomedical Acupuncture for Pain Management and Cosmetic Acupuncture. While attending NUHS, she was accepted to the Dean's List, as well as Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

During her last year of chiropractic school, Dr. Thursby was chosen to participate in a clinical rotation at the Graduate Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Time spent during the rotation focused on side-by-side work with internal medicine medical residents caring for emergency room and in-patient patients.  An important experience, this opportunity provided an in-depth experience in the evaluation, management, and long term care of common clinical problems handled by the primary care physician.  National University clinical internship rotations were completed at the Main Campus Clinic and Salvation Army Clinic in downtown Chicago.  These experiences have further contributed to Dr. Thursby’s emphasis in importance of merging holistic healthcare and mainstream medicine when necessary.  Dr. Thursby works closely with medical doctors through appropriate referrals and co-management.

Personally, Dr. Thursby is married and has lived in downtown Chicago for 10 years.  She and her husband are joyously awaiting the arrival of their second child this summer.  Dr. Thursby enjoys running and has completed 10 marathons and 4 triathlons.  She is a member of the Chicago Area Runners Association, Chicago Endurance Sports and enjoys running with a weekly women’s group at a local running store.  Dr. Thursby also enjoys yoga, reading and enjoying the great city of Chicago with friends and family.
